Australian Outcomes Based Assessment (OBA) Preparatory Program

For Internationally Qualified Nurses

In March 2020, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) replaced the previous bridging program pathway with an Outcomes Based Assessment (OBA) for Internationally Qualified Nurses and Midwives (IQNMs). Under the OBA assessment, the eligible international nurses will have to undertake two examinations called NCLEX-RN and OSCE (Objective structured clinical examination) to attain the nursing registration in Australia.

About the OBA Preparatory Program

Lead College’s Outcomes Based Assessment (OBA) preparatory program has been crafted to thoroughly prepare international nurses for both NCLEX RN and OSCE examination. Additionally, this online OBA preparatory program provides contemporary information about healthcare systems and nursing care practices in Australia which lays the ideal foundation for your professional nursing career.

Structure of OBA Preparation Course

Replacing the previous bridging program for international nurses is this new assessment model which tests both cognitive abilities (through the NCLEX-RN exam) and behavioural skills (through the OSCE exam). Accordingly, the online OBA preparatory course by Lead College offers two modules that cover both NCLEX coaching and OSCE coaching.

Module I

NCLEX RN Preparation (8 weeks)

In this module, the nurses will acquire knowledge and skills to pass the computerised multiple-choice examination. The preparatory program is based on the test plan of the examination and is delivered by experienced registered nurses and NCLEX -RN trainers.

Module II

OSCE Preparation (4 weeks)

This module focuses on developing skills and competence required for the nursing practice in Australia. It is delivered in our high-end simulation lab facility, by experienced nursing trainers through a rigorous face to face practical training program.
